Marthe Husum

Violist Marthe Grimsrud Husum (Viola) was born in Tønsberg, Norway in 1991. In high school and at The Norwegian Academy of Music, she studied with Prof. Morten Carlsen, then in Berlin at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler with Prof. Walter Küssner. Now, she just graduated from New England Conservatory with Prof. Kim Kashkashian as her teacher. Her passion is orchestra and chamber music. To mention a few she has attended Encurentro de Musica de Santander, Prussia Cove, Banff Chamber Music Residency, La Jolla Music Festival and Verbier Festival. She is also substituting in different professional Orchestras; Berliner Philharmoniker, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2013 as «Akademist» in Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Since 2008 she has also been a member of the new chamber orchestra in Norway – Ensemble Allegria. With this prize awarded orchestra, she recorded Mozart Sinfonia Concertante in 2015, and performed it this spring at "Sentralen" in Oslo. When not playing the viola, Marthe loves to cook and run.
